Tempting, but living in Chicago demands a commando sole (well except for this year; easiest winter I've ever been through). To everyone who grabbed them, let's see some pics when the boots arrive.

I hear you. MidWest winter will try its best to screw your shoes up. Dunno what's going on this year though.. I mean no huge snowstorm and its 65 degrees in early March!!

Four weeks until my Whiskey Indy boots arrive & I also preordered the cigar captoe boots on the Grant ETA four months, perfect for fall weather. If anyone is interested Kathy is doing a black calfskin PTB boot with a flat welt on the Barrie & double waterlock sole.

Here's a quick pic of what the Whiskey Indy will look like (I apologize in advance for the bad pic for I didn't take it).

Close heel with flat welt on the LS PTB #4 4x4

Based on the pic that Kathy sent it looks like the Whiskey Indy has a close heel with a storm welt.

As much as I appreciate it, I just don't enjoy Color #4 as much as Whiskey & Ravello.

Don't get me wrong - great looking shoe. Just not my bag.

Fair enough & you're welcome to your opinion. I just posted up to clarify the difference between a close heel & 360 degree one and the color was really irrelevant.

thanks, for clarifying...so in addition to being done with speed hooks, they also chose to not use a 360 welt...

Correct, I talked to Kathy about that and she was unaware of the 360 degree welt. We wound up with the welt that's on the 403 & 405 models the storm welt.

Blue suede Indy from Leffot.

With blue suede unlined chukkas. They probably fulfil the same mission but that could be said of many shoes I have.

You can dress up the chukka more than the Indy.
