Very simple. My humble contribution to Ravello Super Tuesday. Chukkas from The Shoe Mart taken without flash in natural, defused light.

I have two pair of Church's captoe balmorals (black and brown). I have been eyeing Edward Green for a while, but I need to get my size MTO in most of the models I want.

I also only buy Aldens in cordovan or suede. For regular calfskin I buy Allen Edmonds or Crockett and Jones, with a strong preference for C&J. Wish I had some Vass, too.

The only shoe I've seen/tried on that is built on the Van last is the LHS and the low vamp on that model kills my high instep (doesn't matter whether I size down or stay TTS - going wide helps a little but not enough).

thank you!

I have an 11D Indy with Trubalance last and a pair of LHS 11D with the van last. Both are comfortable. I would say the Indy has a ittle extra room in it t nothing that bothers me much. I would get the same size in both. PS: the LHS fit me like a glove.

thank you!

This seems right, both C&J and AE make great shoes.

I have strongly considered Alden's burnished tan, though (which I guess is "regular calf")

Had a set of Christys put on my 8m old 405

I'm in uni, and I couldn't deal with the block heel in classrooms and libraries. Someone please tell me if this is sacrilege; I find them rather attractive.

Alden is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get

Left: red/burgundy ravello (purchased Mayish 2011)
Middle: red/"carrot" ravello (purchased last month)
Right: Whiskey (purchased January 2012)

FWIW I've used mid tan Kiwi on the tassel loafers, have yet to wax the other two pair

Never liked the look of christies, but this turned out pretty good.

Haha. I like it. The Indy is considered a "work boot" so why not? Btw, how much did it run you?

something is just off about these... maybe it's your camera and your lighting... are these like cell phone pics with flash? your ravello is straight up brown in this pic
