http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-men..._cordovan.html I can't tell by the pic if this is the Aberdeen - looks like it might be. This is from Shoe Mart.

I suspected it might be. The NFB's that Shoe Mart has are on the Aberdeen but aren't in shell.

shameless plug...

I've got a pair of Roy Boots up for sale. Brand new. Arrived today. Size 8.5

Here is the photographic evidence. The stitching seems to end short, is frayed, and veers off onto the side of the boot. The other boot isnt quite as bad but has similar fraying/veering. Acceptable or not?

obviously hard to describe without pics, but was wondering if these irregularities are normal or if i should return them for another pair. they are of course barely noticeable to anyone not looking for it but very noticeable to me.

^ I wouldn't worry about that, not one bit, and especially not on Indy boots. I would think that I would have the boot re-soled before something like that would be an issue.

Are LS/JCrew captoes as similar as they appear, i.e. heel loops, speed hooks... any other differences?

I am in the market for a dark brown oxford.
I am debating between these two.
What the advantages/disadvantages of the commando sole.
I am looking for a shoe that is versatile enough to wear with dress pants, chinos, and denim.
