Then this shows up a few days ago... kinda cool if we had a hand in the design of this boots.

i'm not gonna lie, these look like old man orthopedic shoes but i kinda want a pair. however, as i am planning for a wedding, the alden budget has reduced to $0.00

Looking to finally pick up a pair of tan LWB (wish I could find a cordovan whiskey), but noticed a few sites list the color differently ie - Jcrew shows tobacco, unionmade shows walnut calf, shoemart shows new dark tan. They all look similar in color to my amateur eyes. Can anyone help tell the difference, if there is any? Would hate to make an expensive mistake.

Some of that is built into a shoe and correctly so... I won't pretend to know the full reasoning for it but I'm sure google is your friend in this case. Any well built shoe will not sit flat until your weight is on/in it. I do know I read this somewhere but can't remember where right now

Does anyone know what size I would be in the Aberdeen last, if I measure a 41 on the Vass F last?

TIA!

So beautiful... Look like brown egg shells.

Does anybody have a cobbler they would recommend in central NJ? Need a heel replacement on my Indys.

Don't know the Vass Lasts, but Aberdeen is TTS for me.  12D on the brannock, 12D on the Aberdeen, (11.5D in the Barrie and Trubalance).

I really like the shade of navy Alden uses... I'm still looking for a good opportunity to break out the navy suede chukkas for the first time in 2013

How about the Allen Edmonds #5 last? Would you know how the Aberdeen last compares with the AE Park Avenue?

Thanks for your advice!

Leather Sole. Unlined flex welt. Not sure if the single oiled leather sole would hurt or help so unless I could try I would go with a single leather sole to be safe.

Suede and Chromexcel would probably be very comfortable. I personally would avoid cordovan for heavy dancing.

In this case, even when my full weight was on the shoes, the back of the heel was still elevated and I could rock back and forth like a seesaw.

To be honest I think this is normal for a new pair of Marlows. The issue should correct over time.

+1. This would probably not bother me. Not seeing it I cannot say for sure. I will tell you that my Darlton soles are the hardest and most slippery soles of all my shoes. Walking on tile I almost slip and bust my arse taking corners at speed.
