A link to what? If you're outside the EU you subtract the VAT which is 20%. Upon checkout the VAT will be deducted. This issue arose yesterday in regards to Frans Boone.

If the vendor ships by UPS, you'll pay that 20% back in customs fees, though, unless the vendor is willing to mark a low value on the customs form for you.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks for the info. Does that only happen if it's shipped through UPS? What about other carriers?

Most of the foreign vendors I've bought from ship via their national postal service as it's cheaper and EMS is very very good. This translates into USPS delivering it to your door and no fees.

Same deal with all commercialized carriers. If they use local post, which will then go through USPS in the US you most likely will not get hit with customs. Some retailers like Tres Bien Shop always mark down value to $10-$30 so you never pay customs.

Are chukkas acceptable as a dress shoe. With a suit? Or should one stick with a oxford type shoe? Any thoughts?

 .... it's not 200 off if they've been worn. You can't compare cost of new shoes vs used ones

there's nothing mythical about cigar, it's just a color. it's a nice color sure but it's odd how it's so 'rare'.

hard to tell what those AE look like without seeing some real photography, but I know the Walnut shell color they used was awesome. right between whiskey and ravello. I've always thought the cognac/brown color used by C&J and in a few models by AE is better than cigar as well.

anyways it's good to see other big companies using rare shell colors, thats good for everyone, even Alden fans.

these are for sale right now in b/s, I have the same ones. so sick for $299. if they were called Alden they would have sold in 10 minutes. I'm tempted to buy them and just stash them.

Cigar, often, has an olive undertone that I really dislike. The C&J brown has a red undertone that looks much nicer.

Yeah that Olive undertone is what has always bothered me about it, call me crazy but I definitely put Ravello and Whiskey ahead of it.

I think Ravello is the most beautiful color shell by far. It's just the right level of eye catching. The C&J Brown/Red is just as nice but a little more subdued.
