You should buy a Powerball ticket, my friend. Every time I walk down Charles Street, I wonder how NRO manages to stay in business. I hope this marks a turning point in their customer service.

Amazing how random some customer experiences are. For instance, AoC tends to get a bad rap around here due to some of Adam's return and communication quirks. Yet, I've bought shoes from him since shortly after he opened, have had nothing but first rate service through today, and would highly recommend AoC to anyone. That said, I know my size and don't jerk him around.

I see he posted some pictures on the website from the early days which made me a little nostalgic. I bought my first pair of Aldens through him when I was fresh out of college and have owned a number of the special make-ups he did. Unfortunately, I let most of them go, so it's nice to see them again.

P.S. I think I paid $285 for that first pair, and I thought I was bat shit crazy!

It is pretty crazy.  I do think though that NRO has made a concerted effort to correct the customer service disasters of the very recent past.  Their communication/e-mail link on their website promises a reply within 24 hours.  If you try to contact them through their system, they are fairly efficient.

I bought my second pair of Aldens from Adam about a year and a half ago and had to request an exchange.  He was very civil and accommodating; no demands to pay with cashiers checks or money orders.  It definitely helps to know exactly what you want in the correct size.

In any case, I think I have gone bat sh*&t crazy buying all of these shells.  The question is, when will my wife demand that I join some sort of support group like Aldens Anonymous.

I am really digging Alden adding navy CXL to the lineup. I can't wait to see some of the makeups

That's a great link.  Thanks for sharing.  All that custom display furniture/shine box stuff is pretty cool too.

The cigar indys were $742 prior to today so they are up $20

Yes, Sir.  I didn't mean same price, I meant same boot.  (If that's what you were thinking that I meant)

Have you ever wanted to see what a Chinese copy of an Alden 405 Indy Boot looks like? Here you go:

It actually looks like they did a pretty good job. I'd certainly never consider it myself and  sure hope Alden doesn't become like Louis Vuitton with tons of fakes though.

Love the different punches on these. I know this is an Alden forum, but I really which AE would add some different medallion designs. The Marlow in particular is a spectacular design.

Not even close, I would never consider for a second the purchase of a knockoff.

In fact, I no longer even like the Alden 403 or J Crew versions because they are not the original.

Ya, but he's making youtube videos just like yours, except with a British accent.

I dont' believe that you fail to identify the similarity.

That guy is a British knock-off of you just as much as that boot is a Chinese knock-off of an Indy.nod[1].gif

Weird, it doesn't seem like you even looked at his other videos. His videos are nothing like mine, not by a long shot.

You're right I didn't.

But the one you posted is just like your videos.  I don't care if you deny it.

Good Night, Sir!

Question: Are the Leffot snuff suede LWB the same as the Epaulet ones from a little ways back?
