For those of you with cordovan Indy boots on double leather soles (or I guess any boot on double leather), do you add anything to the sole (topy, toe taps, heel taps, etc)?

patrick, thanks for the reassurance. This is weird. I've ordered and bought things a lot more expensive than Alden's, and I've never had this kind of anticipatory angst waiting for a delivery. For lollipops sake they're just shoes.

I'm sorry, but I must correct this usage of "more."

Unique means "one of a kind." A noun is either unique or not, and cannot be quantified or qualified.

The best adjective here is "rare."

The Day Tripper is awesome, though I wish it had a double leather sole.

No, I actually prefer the double leather sole on the cordovan Indy & haven't added a thing.

Hey, if the shoe fits... When in Rome.... Blahblahblah

My Indys have cats paws. Not that they really need it but it does make them look like stompers which is ok with me icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

These are great^ This is the pair I'd wanted - I've balked at the Bisque before. Great looking.

Do not balk. These are perhaps my favorite shoes:

Otherwise, they're staying put.

I never thought that I actually get offers, but there seems to be a bidding war where people are offering more. Ooops! Now, I
might actually have to sell them.

I am not a flipper or a seller. People who want the shoes should get them from the source and I really wanted them..,,still do.

I thought that I'd explain so as not to offend my fellow Alden people.

the scary fact is that $750 Alden's with tax are now pretty close to those absurd prices.

gone are the days....

No offense taken here. I was amused at the reaction you got, if not slightly confused. If they are priced too high, they will not sell; if they are not priced too high, they will sell. Good luck. nod[1].gif

9D Barrie
9D or 9.5D Plaza
9.5D Grant

Toe taps or topy, definitely. Usually taps (I dig leather soles).
