I stopped by there when the rumor first came up, none of the guys heard of a ravello boot arriving there anytime soon. Honestly I doubt Alden would allocate J Crew enough ravello for it to make sense.

As the origin of this trumor, I'll look into it. It's not unlike Alden to be late on orders and these are about a month late per my source.

more to come...

I did a closet audit the other day and realized ALL of my Aldens were some shade of brown. I guess I need a black pair. I found these Black Flex Longwings (LSW) on Leather Soul the other day. It looks like they're all sold out, as they were released Fall 2011. Does anyone know where I might be able to source a similar pair?

Has anyone seen some alden's shells at a discount retailer? Somebody like Nordstrom Rack? Maybe the J crew outlets? Thanks.

Are you definitely wanting the antique edge? If not, J.Crew has some decent looking black, and Leffot has some black shells left, though only in a few sizes it would appear.
Leffot also has nice looking Color 8 with antique edge trim.

J. Crew outlets get some as you can see them on eBay. I doubt Nordstrom Rack would ever get a pair unless it was super scuffed / damaged.

Looking for a little guidance here...I noramally wear an 11d on the Barrie however while looking online found a nice wingtip but it is only available in 10.5e or 11e. I have never tried on an e before and was wondering how does it actually compare. Should I go down a size because of this or just stay with actual size?

Alden on Madison.

Without going into detail I can say that Alden on Madison's customer service leaves much to be desired. While I am upset with myself for spending my money with them at all (I'm terribly impatient and couldn't find a whiskey PTB elsewhere), I will not give them any of my business in the future. Emails are not replied to in a prompt time frame, a completely different style of what I would consider to be second quality shoes were sent, billing was wrong (not in my favor), and on two occasions shoes were said to be shipped the same day that weren't shipped until the end of the next day (I would have assumed they would have offered expedited shipping to make up for the mistake as opposed to taking 24 hours to ship).

These little details are to be expected from large outfits, but in my opinion, there is no excuse from a small, high-end specialty retailer.

That sucks man. The one time that I have dealt with them they were great at responding to my e-mails. And offered up options on how to get what i was looking for.

depends on how the 11D fits you. if it's a little snug, you don't want to go down to 10.5

I'm trying to see a problem but can't. Shoes crease and those look good to me. Your feet (and everyone else's too) are different sizes which will cause shoes to crease differently. Keep them and wear them.
