Reno is good stuff, albeit expensive. I've compared it to Venetian Shoe Cream and the Venetian can buff to a shine better than Reno which is nice if you are not putting a polish over the conditioner. Basically, I don't think you can go wrong with either as they are both interesting products.

It's expensive, yeah, but it seems silly to me to worry about paying $14 more (or whatever it adjusts to with volume considerations) on a year's supply of a care product for my several hundred dollar shoes =P. But yeah, it's not like you're going to **** your shoes up without Reno.

Off Topic Warning
I know this is Alden thread, but I came across a deal ($150.00) on AE Dalton Boot in Calf for factory seconds at the Freeport ME AE outlet. I ordered a pair in 10.5D, wear a 10D Barrie. No, they don't have any cordovan shell. I figured I'd pass it along, since I saw a picture of the shell on this thread and loved the look of them.

You mean these? AE Dalton in Walnut Cordovan.

I think this was one of the best deals going before Christmas. I absolutely love mine!

That style boot but not in cordovan shell, in walnut calf leather. I sent emails to every outlet store with no luck on any size shell. But I think it was your picture a few weeks back that made me want those boots... I'll have to see how the calf is. I know it's not shell, but for $150, worth a shot. I can probably recoup my money if I don't like...

how much were they going for and where?

I purchased them from AE back in mid Dec. They were $575 then. I think you can still get them but they are now priced at $675 on the AE site. The walnut color is beautiful in person and it's a little darker than what's pictured. These pics were taken on my iPhone and there are some other "real life" pic of these (and Strands in Walnut Cordovan) on the AE thread.

Today is a nasty, wet day in Sydney town; perfect day to break out my new Ultimate Indys which have just arrived from Leather Soul. I had mine on order since July but it was worth the wait.
