As seen above color #8 can work well with red pants as long as you are comfortable with a medium to low contrast apperance.  If you want something that "pops", I saw a fellow on the street wearing red chinos and yellow Converse (white tshirt).  It was a surprisingly coherent comnination.

White or navy suede would work.  I'm not sure about tan.

In my experience, you would definitely be dealing with extra length in the shoe. That does not seem to bother some people on here, but my one pair of shell that are too long (in my opinion) suffer from extra creases. And I really don't like the extra creases. Not so sure about widths, so I'll leave that for someone more knowledgeable to comment.

Thanks for the input. They say they carry 6+ but all of their sizing starts at 8.

Few random comments:

1. #8 goes with anything. I will take pics of #8 with any outfit/color pants/shirts requested for proof.

2. I bought shell explicitly for durability in wet-weather and will never hide it from the elements.

An 8C is 3.5" across in width
7.5D is 3.7"

Those are sharp.  I like how you changed the laces, but not to a bright color.  They are grey right?

I've only had good experiences with NRO. To reiterate, they have a 25% off code right now- "USA" running through 7/1. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the cigar LHS.

i sprayed several coats with a suede protector (the brand is elluding me at the moment) with no discoloration.

Just a word of caution. I jumped on the last 25% off sale. Ordered a pair of snuff suede chukkas and #8 Indys. The Indys were out of stock in my size. The chukkas arrived with no problems. To my suprise they charged my card for both pairs even though the Indys will not arrive for 16 weeks or so. I've ordered from them in the past and everything worked out so I'm going to wait it out.

Does anyone know which JCrew stores in NYC carries Alden LWB, specifically Tobacco?

TIA.

Check any of the men's stores - Upper East Side, Liquor Store in Tribeca, or Soho. If they don't have your size, they will be able to locate them for you. A lot of the regular J Crew stores also carry that model but those three are your best bet (I like Upper East Side the best even though it is a hike for me)

Actually laces are khaki. Pants are grey, so maybe gives laces a grey look. Thanks...JT
