I'm pretty sure it's Trubalance with a commando sole.

Looking very good in that #8.

I have the opportunity to buya pair in 10D in Barrie. I am "true" 9.5E in barrie but I wear 10D in Barrie as well. However, given the unlined nature of the cordovan, I am concerned that getting the shoe in 10D. Should I grab this shoe anyway?

I generally wear Barrie 11d (my guess is that I may be a 10.5e Barrie, but I've never tried) and got the unlined PTB in 10.5d. They were snug to begin with, but have become very comfortable with a few wears, very thin socks only though. Is your thought that the shoes would be too long going up to 10? Or are you also concerned about the width? I will concur that these are very nice shoes and something different because of the Dover pattern, the unlined shell (which has creased more finely on my pair), and the flex welt (mine are the LS makeup). On the other hand, they may not be so nice as to spend extra and be unsure about the fit... Real helpful, right?

I just checked Shoemart site and they completely closed all the wingtip shell.shog[1].gif

I put these on yesterday for the maiden voyage, but I walked around my apartment for a few minutes and found that they're just a tad on the small side. So I'm in the process of returning them for a larger size. Still a good looking boot, and I hope the larger size fits better:

It would be a pleasure for me to present some pics, MP, but i do have to wait a bit until i will get them in person, unfortunately. a good old friend from germany, resident in seattle, will carry them for me on his next trip home.

My main concern is that the length combined with the unlined aspect would create some worse than normal creasing... I am not too worried about the width - I have wide feet, so the unlined version may be more accomodating.

Also, I just got an email for another 20% off coupon for NRO, however Aldens are excluded this time. I tried adding some Aldens to my cart and adding the code, but I got an error. Anyone who got to use the code last time around is probably pretty lucky....not sure if their future discounts will also exclude Alden.

NRO at it again!  20%  Just in case you have more dry powder and feel up to dealing with their customer care.

I have three trubalance (calfskin, suede, cordovan), and all three seem to fit pretty similar.

In terms of fit, I find that my Barrie lasted shoes (I have multiple colors in some of these) line up as so:
1. Chukka (loosest fit)
2. Plain Toe Blucher
3. Long Wing Blucher
4. Wing Tip Boot (tightest fit)
