Chukkas - Whiskey, Chromexcel on Double Waterlock (LeatherSoul), Navy Suede
Chigar - Captoe Boot, Longwing, PTB on crepe
I love the cigar chukka photos I've seen in this thread and it is my favorite shell color...

This isn't a thread for frugality. Ha! Do you own any ravello or #8? If you like the cigar chukka go for it.

Cigar chukkas in my size are rarer, and after this I'll likely be done with cigar for a while. My cigar PTBs are on crepe and are basically a rain dress shoe, and I wear the cigar captoe boots in fall/winter, so a cigar chukka could be a good option for spring/summer.
Though the color 8 unlined dover is tempting...

How are you in touch with the folks at Tassels - exchanging emails? I check their website from time to time and I still get the message that they will be closed for the Chinese New Year (which is nice but suggests that they aren't doing a lot to keep that up to date). I really like that shop but the added duties/costs (let alone carbon footprint) for a shoe to travel from Massachusetts to Hong Kong back to the US make it impractical for most make-ups (I have made exceptions however... shog[1].gif)

Mainly by e-mail. I expressed interest in the dover months back

satisfied.gif I got the same email but with the extra satisfaction of Cigar Indys. Five months is the fastest Alden pre-order I've ever had.

Hey since you guys seem to own a bunch of shell, in the same shade and lasts - can you chime in on the question I had earlier about the fit of the same last between different styles?

That sounds like a pretty good looking make up. I anxiously await the photos...

What last are those Cigar Indys on? Trubalance?

Like others have said, I think it varies - cordovan chukkas seem to fit a bit looer than longwings in the same last, but not by too much. Longwings seem to fit similar across materials. I have a cordovan PTB that definitely fits snugger than my other barrie shoes, but that may just be an issue of that particular shoe. I have three trubalance (calfskin, suede, cordovan), and all three seem to fit pretty similar.

The forefoot feels a bit snug on the sides and I wonder if it is due to the SWB design as I remember a captoed Trubalance was also a tighter fit than its Indy/plaintoe counterpart. Can anyone speak to how the different styles fit in relation to each other? [Chukka, boot, captoe, LWB/SWB, PTB, unlined, etc]
Thanks!

I noticed that as well. When comparing my longwings to the shortwings, the Shortwings seem more sleek and narrow. Both are size 9.5D on the Barrie last. See below

I debated getting Epaulet's Cigar Brixton, but they just looked too similar to my #8 Brixtons for me to justify the purchase. Wore my #8's today:

Do they both have the same welt? I had a few Barrie lasted shoes/boots in the same size and the one with the regular welt looked sleeker than the one with the storm welt

one minor detail: the picture is taken directly above the shortwing, and off-center relative to the longwing, so parallax is giving a distorted comparison between the two.

notice how you can see both sides of the shortwing shoe, but can't see the "bottom" side of the longwing.

Interesting - what about the rest of the shoe? I guess since both have extra material around the front that they'd feel the same.

I find that the SWB has more room across the vamp than my LWB. The rest of the shoe is not much different.

With all the craziness on Ravello and some rare shades let us show some suede love here. Let us see some Suede pics.

I just checked Shoemart site and they completely closed all the wingtip shell.shog[1].gif
