Dead serious - I am not a loafer guy, but this has just triggered a search for a #8 LHS.

J Crew men's shop on 484 bway, as well as the Liquor Store both sold the #8LWB at one time. Not made specifically for J Crew, but....

Got lucky with these... was not on the pre-order, called, and behold they had one in my size! Needless to say it was a quick transaction. I'm on a pre-order for a similar boot but in Whiskey... now THAT is something to look forward to!

Gracias. The ones on TSM look very dark, whereas blue collar's appear much lighter. Is this just the difference between indoor lighting and the sun?

Lighting and how my dye Alden used on them smile.gif Recently their shoes are dyed darker; My hypothesis is that it is done to minimize degrees of shading.

Yes.  Color 8 looks much more burgundy in natural light.  It's beautiful.

How old are yours? The creasing looks minimal.

This in addition to the 2 weeks it has already been. I also raised a question regarding my eyelets being pulled through the leather when I tighten my laces after which they seemed to have checked the wrong thing (the pressure at which the eyelet was fastened to the boot?). He said he would take another look specifically at what I'd detailed to him and assured me that if there was something wrong they would fix it. He also said he would include a couple of sets of laces for my #8 cap toes which I had mentioned had broken.
All in all the customer service has been very good aside from having to resend emails a couple of times. I do appreciate that they stand by their product it really does speak volumes (even if their QC seems spotty at times)

The same excact thing happened to my pair of 403's! I sent them back to Alden SF(where I bought them), and got a new pair right away!

Really depends. I'm a 10.5 in Barrie and just purchased some unlined Chukkas on the Leydon in 11D. Leydon is significantly narrower than Barrie. My foot is basically right in the middle of D and E width and fits in the Leydon D but just barely and that's on an unlined chukka so there's definitely some give there.

So I would say at it depends on a couple of things; namely how wide your foot is and what boot/shoe you are purchasing.

I think if I had pressed the issue they would have replaced them but I'd almost rather not lose the mileage that I've put on them. Though we'll see how they hold up once I get them back and we'll see if they fix my eyelet problem or just gloss over it. I'll probably call them again on Monday just to make sure that they actually take note of the issue.
