I think from what I understand about shining a shell is to use minimal, more if needed, cordovan cream and just vigorously brush them then buff it with a flannel cloth

It may be a long wait, but at least you will get exactly the size you're looking for.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. Any thought on whether it's better to go with the smaller or larger width when between sizes?

Thanks much

Here are a few shots from today's maiden voyage.
Notice how much different they look in the natural light (3rd pic, although a cloudy day here in NYC)

these look great: but compared to shoemart pics i have a hard time telling the difference. just a TAD more red?

It's hard to tell the difference unless you put the shoes side by side. When you do that, especially outside, the #4 shoes its real character: dark like a mohagony, with some red highlights. Have to say, the shoe got 4 compliments on my first wear. I don't remember anyone ever commenting on my Ravello boots.

Congrats. Looking great.

Is there anyone outside of shoemart who's currently (or imminently) stocking anything in #4?

I still don't understand why the shoemart didn't order anything over 11 in their two #4 boots...

I really hope they restock these. Post some more photos when you get the chance.

Maybe they did and the website wasn't showing? Did you give them a call?

Unfortunately, no thats not the case. i spoke with Mark Waters who said they didn't order either the WT or Captoe boot in #4 in anything larger than an 11.

bigfoot discrimination!

Both ends of the spectrum. They did not have anything smaller than 8 or something.
