Looks a bit darker than Ravello, like between Ravello and Color 8. Not bad indeed.

I love #8 and Ravello, but this shade is great. I would like to see more of it in Alden's shoes.

Help me fill in the shell color rainbow.

Remaining colors are - Ravello, Cigar, Whisky and Color 4

If the color is that important, grab it when you can, especially for #4...its a rare one...though

I've seen these and the Leffot #4s this year alone, could it be that this leather is now a little more available? It appears that ravello is becoming what #4 was, uber rare.

Furo, do you find that the shoes retain any more heat/moisture (or alternatively, don't breathe as well...or however one might put it) thanks to the topys? I have this done on a few pairs I wear infrequently, so I haven't worn them enough to notice a difference, but I have heard this complaint from folks in the past.

No haven't noticed that at all, but then again, all my shoes are topy'd except for the 403 Alden Indy and my unlined suede PTBs

I have them. they're great. get complimented on them all the time. i do find that they fit a bit smaller than a pair of aldens in the same size/last but made from cordovan.

That tan calf looks fantastic, especially with the commando sole. Great boots.

Is that more or less than "tons of complments"?

I like those boots. One of the first Aldens I purchased but I had to send them back due to a flaw.

I don't have anything like this on my Ravello wingtips, which are the only other pair of shell's I have. Is this normal or should this be counted as a second. I tried taking a picture for example but it isn't as pronounced in the picture, but there are a lot of them on the boot.

If it really bothers you, I believe you can always send them back to Alden to be re-dyed... for a price.
