Very nice. I've been thinking Cigar, and maybe it will be a chukka.

With the exception of the frans Boone ravello Indy on the plaza last, have there been any other offerings of a ravello Indy? I'd be interested in a ravello Indy on a wider last, plaza doesn't work very well for me

Anyone know where I can find Alden shoe trees under $30?
Thanks.

Has this happened with anyone else's Indy's (or any other boots for that matter)?

Basically the upper is separating from the welt/sole of the shoe (the white you see is I assume the thread holding them all together.  Just noticed this today, with nothing notable happening to cause this.  Really starting to lose faith in the quality of Aldens as these boots are less than a year old.  I get it the demand makes the QC go down or something like that but this should not be happening on a $450 dollar boot regardless of the reasoning.  I mean hell this doesn't even happen on $100 boots.  I'm starting to really question whether Aldens are worth the trouble.  So far I've had speed hooks tearing out of $650 Cordovan boots, ugly wrinkles on $460 chukkas, and now this.  Pretty disappointing.

Anyone else have experience with this?  Is it an easy fix at a shoe repair?

Thanks in advance.

What's up with Brooks Brothers and Alden? The flagship store here in Tokyo said they only have one pair (in any style) left, and they have no idea if or when they'll be getting more. The Brooks corner in a big department store here (Isetan) told me the Brooks / Alden contract may not be renewed. Could that be true? Maybe only regarding Brooks in Japan? I was really surprised to hear that, but sure enough all the BB stores here have only Peal or AE now...

To be honest, I have 6 pairs of Aldens currently, and have never had a qualitly issue when it came to the construction of the shoe. Knock on wood. Only minor shade variations with the shell color.

I have the same pair of boots but no, I have not seen that, and I've had mine a little over a year (wear maybe once a week, sometimes twice). The only thing wearing down is the stitching on the tongue which I'm quite certain a cobbler can fix without issue.
