Actually I felt a bit ashamed posting that image (taken a few weeks ago before I had put "the method" into my routine). Now my shoes are never put away into their trees and bags without a thorough brushing. Very happy with them now. Love my Cigars....

Alden quality control strikes again... but this time it didn't really hurt.

My marble suede Indy's came from Leffot this evening. Went through typical Alden unboxing:

- Open box.
- Inspect for blemishes.
- Make sure shoes are right size.

Both shoes are marked half a size larger than the box which had size I actually ordered. Oops.

- Break out ruler, compare outsole to other True Balance lasted boot (a Tanker, which was just approximate)
- Lace-up and try on with thin socks. For some folks this would be the obvious first step, but lacing suede leaves marks, so why bother killing the mint condition if the size wasn't even ballpark? It was.
- Shoes fit well.
- Try on Tankers for immediate comparison so I know I'm not suffering from wishful thinking.

Long story short, size on shoe appears to be wrong. Box appears to be right. I will say that the off-white suede makes the shoe look bigger than a dark shoe of similar size. Have had worse issues with Aldens out of the box -- a pair of polish-stained shoes, one with loose threads and another with a gash in the side of a sole. At least they don't have to go back with no stock in my size to exchange for...

Alden refuses to do a MTO Whiskey LWB in Toddler 6 for my son.  Does anyone else find this to be outrageous? What happened to the customer always being right?  The boy needs shell, Alden.

Anyone have any idea where to get those cigar captoe boots in size 8d?

I don't see the point... he's going to outgrow the shoe in a year or two. Why not wait until he's an adult and then buy him a pair that will last him 20+ years?

at toddler 6, it would be more bespoke than MTO. i dont think alden has any size T6 lasts laying around. if it was possible I would buy size T2 lwb. one for the right and left thumbs

His son will wear them for 2 year, and so will his son, and so on...

Sorry to hear those didn't work out for you, but I believe most if not all Tankers are on the Barrie last and not the Trubalance. Epaulet recently made a Natural Chromexcel Tanker boot and that was on the Trubalance but Leffot and Context have their Tanker boots on the Barrie.
