Alden SF has 6E in stock. Not sure if that would work for you.

Preorder with Shoe Mart has been pretty quick in my experience. I asked Ed to put me down for a pair of Whiskey PTBs. I got the shoes about 2 months later. When he was taking down my info, he said it can take up to 6-8 months. To the guy interested in Cigar PTBs, you may want to go this route.

My experience is that this shoe is a tweener size for me, due to a "partial lining". I comfortably wear a 10D on the Barrie, and I have both Darltons and their boot sibling (Lindricks) in 10.5D. The fully lined Lindricks are perfect - I wouldn't change a thing. But the partially lined Darltons feel a touch large in the toebox. However they are fine in the heel, and I think a 10D would be too tight over my (high) insteps. So it is a compromise. If possible, I would suggest trying both an 8.5D and 9D.
As always, YMMV...

As Joenobody points out, the lasts really aren't at all similar with the exception of length perhaps. After trying on the Darlton/Marlow wingtips several times, I found that I fit TTS but follow sf guidelines of 1/2 size down in the Barrie. I'm a wide-ish 11 on the brannock and a perfect 10.5 on the barrie. The 10.5 marlow was too snug in the toe box and the 11D fit much better. Not sure if it's available in an E width but my RL store only had the D to try on. I'm now waiting for the next private sale in hopes of buying them. My local RL SA is great about emailing me to notify me about the sales.

Heel Support Question

I'm one of the unfortunate people that have slightly different sized feet. My left foot is 10.5 and my right is a 10. In general I have bought aldens in size 10D and they fit both feet well in most of the lasts except the truebalance where my right (smaller foot) heel has some movement. Is there an insert or something I can use to fill in that little bit of extra space? Any recommendations on a product?

I realize I could go down to a 9.5D which would solve my right foot issue but then my left foot would be crammed into a shoe/boot 1/2 size too small.

Oh shit, son, a Joe's Shoe Clinic makeup? That's the hotness.

FYI, just received Shoemart Alden 2nds email. Sadly no 10.5D LWB's in #8 which is what I'm looking for. They did have the #8 PTB however.

Hardly vapor. They're available at nearly every major RL store, including the one in SF (as someone else already said).

I haven't had a lot of success with heel pads. They always come off and leave a sticky mess. I know that cobblers can attach something more permanently to help the issue, but I've never had it done.

Thanks for the head's up. I can actually wear 6E and it's tempting; however, I realize that 6.5D works better because the extra lengths makes it 'sleeker' (okay, it's really impossible for the Barrie to be sleek). I've bought from Alden SF before and very happy with their service. Maybe I can pre-order a 6.5D. Thanks for the lead!
