Those ravello boots are the reason you all need to sign my petition. See my sig. To get these as firsts, they are $1200 from Anatomica Paris. Moulded Shoe would sell them for about $750.

Are the BB Black PTB identical to the Black shell 9901 model?

No. The BB shoes have metal eyelets and don't have a reverse welt. They're also on the M58 last versus the Barrie.

Thanks, good to know. How does the M58 compare to the Barrie?

I thought the BB ones looked nicer some how but I couldn't place it until you mentioned the differences.

There's a lot of debate regarding the M58 versus the Barrie. Some say they're the same, or nearly the same, last with a .5 length shift up (8D Barrie = 8.5D M58). Others say they take the same size.

I have the BB shoes in 8D, and a pair of Alden shell chukkas in a 7.5D. They look, fit, and measure completely identically. In my sample of one, it seems like they're the same last with a relabeled size. Who knows if that's how it still is, or if this was ever a consistent thing. I wouldn't buy a pair without trying them on first.

Thanks...

AF21 is just AoC's style number for their shoe.
It'll still be marked "97something or other" for Barrie LWB. Dunno if it'll actually be 97891 though.
There's no AFxx marking on my AoC sourced shoes.

I checked my box from AoC. They are identical (97891).

Thanks. I think I'll just order 'em. Brooks Brothers has a pretty good return policy.
