Jason, if Alden's "storm welt" is not sewn directly to the upper, can it still be called a storm welt? At that point, does it technically become a reverse-split welt? Can you explain in more detail the difference between the storm and reverse welt beyond the looks (one is beaded as you say and the other has a taller edge to it).
I'm not sure about the reverse split welt question. I believe that the storm welt is sewn to the upper but it's on the inside of the shoe and is just one strip.
