Same, I don't baby mine but the boots don't exactly cut it as good 'non-clipless' cycling shoes/boots. The steel shank does make for a stiff sole though

Almost wore my cigar LWB's today as well, but went with captoe boots instead.

I'm glad I put in a pre-order for ravello boots after seeing those pictures above. However, the wait until September will not be an easy wait.

Anyone know the model for natural chromoexcel Indy's? I know it's 405 something something and ends with H.

Dude, you must be the most balling-est kid at your campus with all the stuff you buy! An undergrad version of RFX for sure, haha.

Gotcha. I always thought you were an undergrad with goals of going to law school. This is what I've gathered from reading random posts/threads.

Hey, when you get the word that the shoes are in stock from Leffot, can you let me know?

I'm trying to go through a withdraw and prevent myself from preordering. If I get them upon arrival, I get them. If I don't..then I don't.

I'm with you on the stingy part. Between work, school, and squeezing a bit of time for the gym...I rarely have any time for anything else...which means no hanging out with friends...which means saving a lot of money, haha.

^ Might as well buy all the Aldens you can before the law school loans kick in. Well, that's assuming you have any.

Not looking forward to paying back mine, but I am one of the lucky ones to have a job already, haha.

lol completely agree ... im supported by well-off parents but will be heavily in debt after grad from loans (my dad doesnt want to spoil me so i have to pay back everything). thankfully i should have a good offer lined up after grad to take care of loans that i will be paying for like 30 years. at least ill be rocking aldens

I've purchased 2 pair of seconds. Both had such obvious flaws (one visual, and another affecting fit) that they were promptly sent back. I was out shipping both ways.

I would never buy Alden seconds again. The savings isn't worth the aggravation, and when you look at what passes for firsts sometimes, would you really want something worse than that?

Thanks for your input, brother.

March/April is a good time frame for me! I should be able to convince myself to buy a pair of Alden shoes by then, haha.

I think ordering seconds gives you a great opportunity to get your hands on a pair of Aldens at quite a discount off the normal retail price. The $7.95 return shipping fee is well worth the risk of seeing these shoes in person and making the determination for yourself. In some cases, I have received seconds that had no flaw at all. Even if there is a flaw that you could live with, I say it is still worth it.

I have had my fair share of seconds that had noticeable flaws that got sent back right away, but with their liberal return policy, I don't see the risk. Most Alden retailers do not accept returns at all, especially if you try them on and you make the slightest of creases.

I have a pair of seconds and I would do it again in a second. I saved a good deal of money for very minor flaws. Of course, living 15 minutes from the Shoe Mart makes it a bit easier. You can walk in and check them out beforehand
