But then you went on to say: "Alden is the only company that offers the variety, the shell, and quality at the prices they do, from the United States."

I'll agree on the variety, but that's about it.

The only thing that Julian boots have in common with Red Wings is that some of the models are based on traditional work boots. Julian also made the first RRL Bowery Boots, the Mister Freedom Road Champs, and boots for Rising Sun, all of which are a testament to the craftsmanship and quality of his boots. They're all turned out in much smaller numbers than Aldens, and I'd be willing to bet that the craftsmanship is better on the Julians. Then again, they are about 1.5x the cost of Aldens. Don't get me wrong, I truly like my Aldens, but I think you dismissed all of those brands too quickly.

Context NST. A bit dirty and scuffed, nothing a glass of wine and a brush won't fix

I agree with Zissou

I've seen Julian's boots in person and the quality level is WAY beyond what Red Wing offers. Deciding if they're worth the money is up to you but the craftsmanship is undoubtedly superior
