Those are beautiful boots. The #8 shows well in that photo. Be sure to post more photos as you wear them. It's clear that they are going to age nicely.

The J.Crew "roughed-out" suede - does anyone know what the roughed-out means? It looks like normal suede on the site...

Nice!  I just got my replacement pair today - due to loose speed hooks.  J. Crew treated me right - no questions, just exchanged them and overnighted the new ones to me.  Hope you enjoy yours, I know I will enjoy mine.

I bet that natural cordovan is absurdly rare.

All I have to say is, if Unionmade SF still has your size in stock of the Loden Green Indy Boots, get them.

That is all.

I picked up the Leffot chamois longwings. They look exactly like the photo here. Brown, greasy, and perfect for pisspoor weather. I really like them. I'll get some pics up soon.

Let's see those pics.

I think someone said it a few pages back, you have to be patient will Aldens... I will say this it is a lot better to buy from a Big company like Jcrew for Aldens simply for the fact you can get good discounts if you work the system.....
That is my story for tonight.

Nice score. And yes, you do have to be patient with Alden. I've yet to see a truly perfect pair from them...I've just learned to live with the small flaws.

I think that J Crew's "roughed-out" suede is the same as reverse chamois. There's a discussion a couple pages back about chamois vs. reverse chamois with pictures of it worn in. I have the All Weather Walkers from Unionmade in reverse chamois and love them. I think it's a lot tougher then suede. Hope that helps.

Where can I find info on the Mac Break in method? I did an advanced search and it only brings me to 1st page of thread. I would not mind, but the threads are 500+ pages... I checked out Mac's site, but does not have any reference to the break in method. Just picked up a pair of #8 chukkas and wanted to reference that...
