That's too bad. It really was one of the best deals on Alden shoes. I wanted the #8 Captoe boots but they have been out of stock in my size for a while. I'm hopeful that J Crew will once again allow us to buy Aldens at 25-30% off in the future.

Gorgeous. Whiskey or Ravello chukkas are next on my list.

I agree. The Grant 9D fits me perfect. The Barrie 9D is too big and the Barrie 8.5D is too small (need to try a 9C Barrie). I have Trubalance boots in 8.5D that fit just a tad snug but are wearable.

What are Double Waterlock Soles? Is there a benefit in having these?

Florsheim by Duckie Brown brogue oxfords in Scotch on Gilt for $300. These are the Horween leather ones that retail for $600+, i know these aren't on the same level as Aldens, but $300 is a decent price for these and might be a nice alternative for someone.

Good thing there are no 9s, because I would have a hard time not copping. But I shouldn't because that scotch color (whiskey?) is too similar to my tan C&J Pembrokes. I need shell longwings in #8 or something else that's less similar.

They are apparently more water resistant, though I have a hard time figuring how they are truly more water resistant over time than a normal double leather sole (can long time wearers of the waterlock comment?)

Pretty sure the Duckie/Florsheim's are made in China, for what it's worth.

If anyone is interested, I'm going to be selling my brand new Epaulet Brixton boot in Ravello shell cordovan, size 11D as soon as they come in (should be fairly soon -- they have been pre-ordered for nearly a year). You pay what I paid plus shipping to you. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

^ I'll take 'em! $275 sound good? Awesome. Really looking forward to these. I love a good deal
