So I can get some Indys shipped to Australia relatively cheap, but the place only has sizes 10 and 11. I'm usually an 11 in most things (perfect 11 in Quoddy, McNairy) so I would assume the perfect size for me in an Alden trubalance shoe (with size E width) would be a 10.5.

If I was to get a 10, would this definitely be too small? If I was to get the 11, would it really be that big on me?? Am I just desperate?

Thoughts on staying tts but going down a width in the Barrie (which was briefly discussed several pages ago) : I recently purchased the standard kudu chukka in a 9C. The 8.5D, which by conventional wisdom would be my barrie size, felt a little short for one foot, and a little roomy in the heel. The 9C is definitely narrower overall than an 8.5D. The 9C barrie measures the same width as my 9D leydon suede chukkas. If the kudu leather loosens up slightly I'll be golden, if not, might have to put up on b&s
also, did anyone grab the reverse tobacco summer oxford that blackbird had? fit pics?

I've got the same problem with my indy 405.. if the left shoe loosens up a bit, that would be golden. if not, gotta up 1/2 size..

I'm always confused by this...

Why won't places like Shoemart, J. Crew, etc. ship internationally?
It's an increased liability shipping overseas and the customs are a bitch to deal with. Try shipping internationally a few times and youll know what Im talking about

I typically have no problem with it at all - though I deal only with ebay people with legit great feedback or known SF'ers. using Paypal label printing + usps express it's nearly identical to shipping domestic

though I could see how it could be increased risk with randos, which is why I don't do it.

I thought Shoemart and J. Crew do ship internationally, although the lists of countries are still limited. (especially J. Crew)

I was wearing my Berried lasted PTBs with a suit all day today. I think they look great with a suit, especially if you are not wearing some sort of ultra-slim skinny suit or if you are not a super thin guy. I think it comes down to a personal preference and what your own individual style is.

Uncle, an amazing shine and beautiful shoes. I notice they have a commando sole. May I ask where you got them? I've been looking for just such a pair.

There are some parts on my J.Crew #8 captoe I realized that are not normal.
It is slightly rougher when I rub my fingers across them.

They look like this

and the crease on the boot on the left side of the picture inbetween the captoe and the laces.

is this normal? I'm under the impression that cordovan will be smoooooooth throughout

Also, through my wears I have accumulated some scars on them. It isnt the regular scruffs but a short thin cut through the leather. Is there anyway to fix this? will polishing help?

^I have a rough area on my #8 captoes as well, but they aren't from J. Crew and the area is around the toe box. It is also hazy in appearance. I have thin scratches throughout the shoes that aren't really visible unless you're extremely close to the shoes. I do my best to keep it in a good shape by brushing. But at the end of the day, they're shoes....they're not going to stay flawless forever. You bought them, enjoy wearing them.
