I thank you in advance, but my wallet probably won't be thanking much.

I have these boots and they are amazing. I've said this on the board before, I was concerned about the color but when I received my pair, I was very happy.

I've used this logic on previous purchases on my former hobby (modifying cars). Except they weren't Alden's, but parts coming from Japan/Germany. And they were more expensive than the shoes.

If you can post pictures of them, I would appreciate it.

I guess I need whiskey sooner or later to complete the round up. Number 4 seems like it would be super hard to acquire.

I've been on a quest to wear all of the Alden's I bought in the last several months so on my days off, I wear two pairs a day. One new pair in the A.M. to run errands and another new pair in the P.M. for going out.

At the moment, I have 2 pairs left to break in.

I also noticed that some pairs are more comfy right out of the box. Not to say that any are uncomfortable.

Do you have a family photo? I wouldn't mind seeing what you've got at this point. It would be especially inspirational, as I'm looking to bolster my own collection.

I don't have to wear a suit everyday to work but I do have to wear nice wool pants and a tie...have any of you seen or do you wear them with wool pants or a suit? What color pants look great with the cigar? Is there another color or style of shoe that works better with wool pants and a tie? I was thinking I would buy a black pair of LWB's but I would rather find a sleeker shoe in black. I know the cigar looks great with jeans.

Do it. My only pair of Aldens is a pair of cigar LWBs. I think cigar is the most versatile color that Alden makes, though I think a lot of people here would say Ravello.

My collection is pretty random. I might upload a picture tonight if I can finish my homework on time.

6 pairs of Aldens so far. Would've been 7, but I returned the NWT back to Shoemart for falsely advertising them as Barrie last.

Indy 405, Number 8 cap toe boot, Winn Perry pebble grain cap toe boot, cigar shell LWB, J. Crew's tan LWB, dark brown/burgundy pebble grain wing tip boot.

In no particular order for the upcoming purchases in '11: monk straps, black cap toe bluchers, and some whiskey type.

I bought my first pair, which was the Indy's, probably a week or two after I joined this forum. Everything else was planned except for the Ravello today and the Winn Perry, someone posted a link when I was browsing at work, saw it and bought it. I don't really have a hard time pulling the trigger on purchases under $1,000. It's the buys over the threshold that I have to really think about it. Mind you that I have to wear work approved non-slip shoes to work. I only have 2 days out of the week to enjoy my purchases...hence allowing me to break them in. I've been wanting to wear them sooner, but it's been raining prematurely in SoCal lately.
