I had the same attitude until I virtually ruined a pair of Quoddy camp mocs. They smell like zombie hikers stole them and walked the full length of the Appalachian Trail wearing 'em.

Never again. If that means I look like Tinkerbell to some TSA employee then so be it. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Skin to leather is fine if you don't wear them every day and keep it hygienic. Use foot powder. My first pair of boat shoes stunk to high hell because I wore them almost every day without letting them breathe. Now I rotate my shoes more and have no problem with smelly shoes except chucks. The rubber and synthetic sole prevents adequate breathing. I put zeasorb powder in those.

^^ I bought some at J&M a couple years ago, but not as cute.

I just can't bring myself to do the powder method, after seeing my 96 year old great grandfather over do it with the talc day after day when he lived with us. You could always tell when he'd just done it too because you'd see these little white puffs of talc erupting from the sides of his shoes with every foot fall.

So when I reach his age, I'll just simply be the crazy old guy wearing Tinkerbell slippers; wouldn't want to steal his schtick.

Today's choice:

Cigar LWBs

(my socks today are decidedly more boring than anything Mac would have on so I didn't bother rocking them for the photo)

You must have been mistaken. Or they removed everything temporarily and put it all back.

I drove past the store this morning and saw plenty of shoes in the window. All is well.

Query for the peanut gallery: I am trying to decide between two natural chromexcel boots -- either Indy boot on commando sole (trubalance) or Pitt boot (plain toe boot on barrie). I have 3 alden boots currently with one more on the way: snuff suede plain toe boot on commando; normal brown chromexcel indy boot; and #8 captoe boot (jcrew version); and cigar wingtip boot in the near future. Any thoughts as to which natural chromexcel boot I should go for (besides the inevitable both)? shog[1].gif Struggling to decide. Much appreciated.

I'd break out of the boots and go with these:

Fair...although, I didn't list the Alden shoes I currently own. Uh oh, maybe the real answer is "put the wallet away."
