Maybe ask Mike if there's another pair in your size w/ the contrast stitching?

I am actually shocked they sent them out to customers without notifying prior about the stitching.

Yeah. I seem to remember him addressing this somewhere, whether IG or on his own thread.

Another vote for the Annual thread approach.

Splitting up this thread by topic would be most harmful and confusing.

Splitting into subtopics is not a good idea at all. Much better to go with an annual thread IMO.

Here was the response in the EP thread when asked about the stitch. imo though Alden messed up and did tone on tone, it's not the same as the first round and camera settings/lighting playing tricks

The tone on tone is nice but the contrast is beautiful.

+1 for the annual, comprehensive thread method

Fok here.  This thread is getting super long and cumbersome, and the load is... large.  So I'm going to close it in 2 weeks, and then break off Alden talk to new threads re. specific topics re. Alden.  Some categories I've thought of are "Personal Alden collections", "Sizing questions about Aldens" and "Buying Alden: talk about vendors, availability,etc..."  However, I don't want to do this in a hamfisted way, so I'm asking this community to please help me figure out good Alden categories, and I'm also asking for volunteers to write OPs for each section which will help all those new users who share your love of Aldens, but are maybe not as knowledgeable about the product or this community.  Please help me help you guys.  You can also PM me, but I feel that a positive, public discussion will get the best results.  Please use the @LA Guy call out functionality when you answer this call to make sure I read your post, since things move fast.

Cheers,

Fok.

The SEO value ramifications of splitting this thread up in any way are not good.  There's one forum thread that Google, Bing, etc. can crawl and serve up relevant results to those searching anything like "how to shine my Aldens", "best place to buy aldens", etc.  Only someone like you with Google analytics access can tell whether or not search terms providing organic traffic to this site that include the word "alden" make up a good amount of that organic traffic or not.  If not, my point isn't important enough to worry about on a larger scale.

Splitting it out the way you had proposed like sizing, buying, collections, etc. is actually better for SEO value but a terrible user experience for those in this thread.

What are the chances of an Alden sub-forum with an FAQ sticky, and then yearly threads?  At least this way the search engine spiders can see that they're all threads in the same sub-forum also relating to Alden (based on breadcrumbs) and most of the SEO value will be retained.

We don't do single brand subforums, but be can do a tagged page.
