same size across TB and plaza is interesting

Nope. The 8e Leydon fits me perfectly. My unlined chukkas are some of the most comfortable and best fitting Alden I own.

Tell me about it. My heel to ball length is the issue. My basic heel to toe measurement is just barely over 11 but my heel to ball in 11.5-12. I have plenty of toe space in all lasts (tiny toes) but 11D in barrie/tb puts too much pressure on my arch and with thicker socks its a no go. I tried E width in them but the heel is just too wide. 11.5D in grant is my favorite fit and I always wish for more make ups in that last...

Most UK lasts I take 9.5UK with the exception of Tricker's 4444 in 9Uk.

thanks zippy   very helpful

Have  great new years!

The Cheaney is a slightly snugger fit on me but similar in the toes.
Good to know, and not what I would have guessed. Is it the Irvines in that last that you own? I was thinking of picking up a pair. Supposedly, they account for the shearling lining in the size...

Have you tried the 4436 last? I bought a pair of the Pennine II R, and am hoping that they are just a half size down from Alden Barrie smile.gif

My one pair of Cheaneys is the buckshot boots.

I ordered some oiled suede boots last week but they won't ship until next week. Kind of funny how they sent out their sale email the same day they shut down for the holidays.

Cheaneys quality seems pretty good and they've got some great stuff on sale, especially considering no vat, free shipping and DDP.

Helluva pair on the 11E seconds list today.  I feel like I should try to get them but . . . .

edit -- just called, got through on the first try, and was told I was one of the first to call today.  They still had the boots, but I'm just not certain enough about my size on Aberdeen.  Someone should grab these, call 800 850 7463 and ask for FD-4030.

What's the model? I don't get the 11E list.
