So here we have Grant, Plaza, Barrie to compare

Congrats!  I think the wingtip pattern looks great on the Grant last.  I also love me some Barrie last, but the other two look better in these photos; maybe it's the angle.  All are great though and seem different enough from one another if you plan to keep all 3.

Agree the Grant looks so different...wow congrats

Agreed

Holy fuck, those boots are amazing. Just bought a pair.

NST is damn nice, too, but that Plaza makeup is literally perfect for me. I love the Plaza last, I love that medallion, I love the flex sole, and I love the single (or "thick 1.5", can't quite tell) sole.

Call me crazy, but I bought a pair too.... After I just sold my leffot 8 tankers too.

Now I have the B+M Grant wtb and Leffot plaza wtb to decide on. I agree that wingtip + plaza last + leather sole is perfect; one of my Grail makeups. So I had little hesitation ordering a pair. Glad that they had multiple 8.5D's for us both wink.gif

Congrats on getting in on this killer make up. If I didn't already have Hallecks I would have jumped!

As I did for today's Whiskey boots

I love everything about the Leffot WTB except for the sole and welt. Would have preferred commando or double with a storm welt.

The J.Gilbert Plaza #8 wingtip boot is exactly what you describe - only deviation is a different medallion and a 360 welt.

360 welt and all eyelets (still great with hooks) on double waterlock would have made them perfect imo like the LS Cigar pair. Still a hell of a boot, the 8E and 8.5D boys were quick today so I didn't have to make a bad decision and get them haha. I need to figure out my Grant and Plaza sizing, too many great make ups lately

+1 that make up is my personal grail wingtip boot

I went for the NST as it is definitely one of my favorite makeups and I couldn't resist. Does anybody know why there wasn't a preorder for them? I thought there was a preorder for every single make up.

I was so tempted to get both but it was going to be really hard for my pocket :P

Wouldn't you be an 8D on Plaza or Grant?

Gentlemen,

I've been having quite a difficult decision between choosing the Navy Chromexcel or Suede loafer.... Here are photos

My intention to wear these is for casual and business casual purposes. What do you all think? I would genuinely love input from you all!

I wasn't quick enough on the draw for that pre-order. A 360 storm welt would have made that boot perfect.

I love the aesthetics of eyelets but hate them in airports. i remember seeing a post about being able to quickly take them on and off...I'd love to know his trick because it takes me 10 minutes to put them on. However I would take the mock-up you described as well. Hell, I'd pay a grand for a used pair of those LS cigar boots.

I am about an 8.15-8.25D Brannock (left foot slightly bigger). Sizing down in the Barrie to a 7.5D works well with light-mid weight socks. I had a pair of 7.5D Tankers and they were not comfortable if I went to a thicker sock so I sold them and got an 8D and they fit very well in Chups and other thicker socks. Still need to try a 7.5E Barrie boot, my heels are narrow so not sure I like the wider heel idea but those would probably work too.

I think an 8E or 8.5D might be best for Plaza and Grant.

If anyone can compare how a half size up Grant or Plaza compares to Barrie that would be helpful. If the Grant or Plaza in the half size up fits slightly smaller or narrower than the Barrie that would be ideal for me.

I actually find navy CXL a bit boring compared to brown. color 8, olive and natural CXL. It doesn't have the same pull up effect and always seems to be a bit more matte looking. So in this case I vote for the suede! I love Alden suede loafers. I'm actually quite taken by the black suede LHS from Unionmade atm.

I liked eyelets before, but I **love** them now because I learned how to lace them quickly. Can't find the gif, but here's a series of pix:

This isn't the gif I mentioned, but the same technique: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAhz6oNBZvk
