I found them in the back room.  Is that the sale room?  Anyway they have an identical pair still left.  11D

Barrie Last

Regular welt around shoe

Welt: antique

Edge: Mid-tan

Outsole: commando sole

Nice. Also I believe that Leffot's Greenwich boot is very similar with some subtle differences.

-rev cham WT boot

-Barrie last

-All eyelets

-Storm welt

-Antique Edge

-Commando

I have the Greenwich and love everything except for the lack of speed hooks. Love the storm welt/antique combo though.

LS Choco Tankers

I just got some Alden Shoe Trees.  Maybe these are in between sizes.  My 990s are 10D.  I know on some of the sites that sell shoe trees the M is 8-10M and the L is 10-12M.

I ended up buying the L.

On some sites though I see this sizing chart.

  • Small:
  • Medium:
  • Large:
  • X-Large:
  • 6E – 8D
  • 8E – 10D
  • 10E – 12D
  • 12E – 14D

So I'm wondering if I should just exchange my L for a M or I should be OK?

"Regular welt" meaning flat welt vs. split reversed (storm)?

I wear Barrie size 10d and use large Alden shoe trees. Large is the way to go.

What a great group of photos to really show off the difference in lasts!

I had a minor mishap recently where a stockist listed a shoe as on the barrie, but it was actually on the leydon. I had to return, but if anyone is interested in simply seeing a photo comparison between the two (both size 8), including that here. Barrie size 8 (normally a 9D) is perfect for me, but I could not even get my foot inside of the leydon size 8.

That's the appropriate size.  I'm in between size-ish a bit :)

X post from EP thread but my Alden EP Alt Wiens have arrived. Couldn't be happier with them.

Congrats!  I think the wingtip pattern looks great on the Grant last.  I also love me some Barrie last, but the other two look better in these photos; maybe it's the angle.  All are great though and seem different enough from one another if you plan to keep all 3.
