Haha, agreed, natty cxl is a very casual leather in general, but the Alden on Barrie/flat welt/270 degree is just more sleek looking than the Vibergs (even on 2030 last) IMO.  I think the Aldens just pair better with chinos & can be dressed up a bit, while Vibergs I would pair with jeans/maybe some chinos.

Unfortunately (& fortunately), the rule of addition by subtraction is another reason to sell the 'bergs in my case

good points...i think being a plus sized fello the 2030 comes off fine for me with chinos...nothing slim fitted going on here. the subtraction part I need a lot of work on...I am the king of if i get these I will just sill "this"...I have a closet full of "this" I still wear.

Don't like the long lace loops hanging low.

You are looking very good in your Selvedge, CHUPs, and Leffot Tankers. They have a nice color to them!

Your LWBs are looking very good. Nice combination with the slacks, but I prefer slacks with cuffs... :-)

Kdubs, your boots are looking terrific. If I recall correctly, you got the Plaza Makeup from Europe, right? Regardless, the Ravello Cap Toe is timeless and you were them well. No potatoes were hurt in the making of your post.

Those are a great blucher, but will be a bit more formal than the Epaulet Alt Wiens.

Love the way he did the stacked heel. Looks beautiful. Can't wait to get them!

I like this better than the previous soles. I like Danites, but I require a midsole on them for them to be bearable to me.

Very nice kbadgley, your 974's are looking good. For such a classic and readily available makeup, we don't see them here too often.

They are both good looking boots. To me, they are nearly equally formal due to me consider PT Boots to be very casual by design.

I'm so bummed out that I came to the Alden game to late to enjoy all the different shades of brown shell cordovan that Aldens used to come in. Does Alden make anything other than black or Color #8 anymore? I see that other shoemakers still make some shoes in various shades of brown shell (C&J, AE, Carmina, etc.).

Why doesn't Alden?

Here's a quick and dirty of the leffot tankers. It's an overcast day in SoCal so I can't really get a good pic in the sun to make a better comparison of the color.

Unfortunately, Leffot is out of stock in my size and won't be restocking for a while. I've been searching the usual Alden sources, but figured I'd post here for additional help! If anyone knows of a source for these I would appreciate it very much!! I'd also *entertain* the idea of non-Alden brands if anyone has suggestions. Thank you very, very much!!

These are from JCrew.

I wear them hard.

The main difference between these and Leffot was 270 v 360 IIRC
