Thanks for the pics @iluveketchup those do indeed look fairly dark. I'm supposed to get mine on Friday so I'll see how they come out. I may just have to let these sit near a window for a bit.

Recent AoM Tanker. This color 8 has a Cigar appearance almost. The only difference I believe between is the AoM version has a reverse welt added, otherwise they look like the same boot to me.

I agree, they will lighten up over the years and look great!

Sloat Plain Toe Natural CXL

Think this will be the next boot I get.

I have this boot. Without a doubt, its the most comfortable Alden boot I own. Not sure why, but it just happens to be.

That aside, it's a versatile boot that shows off the natty CXL very nicely. I was between this and the Natty CXL Indy and this won because of all the Indys already in my stable. Gets lots of compliments as well.

I'd recommend it.

I may be late to the party but NeedSupply has a great "new" black shell plain toe makeup.

Here is a pic of my very first Aldens. I got them at an European dealer. And they got me hooked on Alden 13+ years ago... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Edit: The sun appeared, so here is a better, additional picture:

The pictures are great! Thanks for taking the time to share them!

^ Nothing sad about these my friend. I love these. Go put your outside for a couple days and you can lighten them. Anxious patina
