Beware of selling non-stock rare she'll Alden models, if you are prone to second thoughts after they're gone. Wait times, delays, and rising popularity makes acquiring rare shell and uncommon models very difficult. Best of luck!

Smoothie is giving out very good advice here. Think long and hard before ousting this Whiskey Unlined LHSes. My pair is my go to big city shoe. I have Toppys on them and they are ridiculously comfy.

I hope everyone's week is going well, as always.

How's the fit feel? Been lots of complaints here lately about that particular model. Your pics are stellar as always. Wear in good health!

I have done that on one of my older WT Boots. Great solution for rain.

If anyone else has, I'd love to see pictures of them used long term for that purpose.

I typically wear my Kudu Indy's in inclimate weather and they hold up super well.  I also like the heavy Vibram sole on them for the snow.

These are c&j, but I bought them largely BC I could wear them in any weather. I live in Boston. It's not a great pic but I can assure you they show zero ill effects from the cold, rain, and snow. This will be their fifth winter. This pic I took after a couple days of wear through rain storms, followed by a shine.

Oh and bonus plug for dainite. Wears soooo hard. Totally agree that I wouldn't wear leather soles in the winter.

Now that I know about being able to take shell out in the rain, I really hope it rains tomorrow.

I like Dainite but I like the commando soles just fine too.  Happy with both in wet weather.  I try not to wear leather soles in a downpour but I have a few pairs I don't mind getting exposed to rain (including some color 8 Florsheim Imperial LWBs with beastly seemingly triple leather soles).

consider overshoes i.e. rubbers the best protection for your shoes

Thanks Mike. No problems here - I honestly couldn't be happier with any aspect of the purchase. They are a bit snug, and I might have been able to get away with selecting my brannock size instead of a half size down, but then I would have run the risk of the boot being too big for my foot.

They were my first pair of Alden footwear and I may still be in the honeymoon phase, but all in all I'd give the PCTs a 1000000 out of 10. biggrin.gif

I think it's a good price. I wear mine frequently.
