Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Nothing beats the original! (coming from someone with a non-OEM "brassvello")  :worship2:

Also digging the denim with no cuffs; planning to hem a few pairs as well

Calf doesn't normally crease or wrinkle in the same manner.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me, but it's not typical of any calf Alden's I've ever owned.

Thanks for the clarification. I have a pair of the J.Crew 405s and just assumed they were the same. +1 where I wouldn't be bothered either but if it bothers you (OP) then return/exchange them; don't settle if you have options plus it's a pretty standard makeup that's not too hard to get.

They just primarily deal with their group of people.

Some folks here have had great luck with them, but others have zero.

whatever works for them. they cater to the ballers who visit from overseas. buy 10 pairs of EGs and you get the chance at a limited edition Alden.

sucks for everyone else.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not that bothered but as more concerned that this was a defect and may get/look worse as
The boot ages
