Venetian shoe cream, Alden wax and Saphir Wax are what I've been using on my shell sparingly and I am very happy with the result.

I heard people saying that the neutral Saphir cordovan cream works well but I haven't tried it myself.

But I don't think using coloured cordovan shoe cream on shell is a good idea, you certainly don't want your shoes ended up looking like this.

Finally going to receive my Color 8 Pitt Boots w/ antique edge from Leather Soul. Nearly 3 years of waiting, hope I'm not disappointed. Crazy wait for Color 8, that's for sure! Pictures at some point this weekend.

I am not convinced the dark creases are a result of the colored crème.

This happens from time to time.

It is more prevalent on lighter shell.

Congrats. It seems like they are trickling in to the shop in Hawaii as I know that a few arrived a couple weeks ago and it sounds like yours just arrived recently. I'm still waiting on mine. patch[1].gif

FWIW, the pictures I've seen of the ones that have come in look spectacular.

Thanks for chiming in, MP! Out of curiosity, where have you seen pics? I briefly saw an Instagram pic from Leather Soul, then it disappeared. Any good links? I'm lusting after them at this point in the most pathetic way!

After seeing the Instagram pics I did some Googling and found a recent post with a picture buried on Grailed or Reddit or SuperFuture but cannot seem to find it now. It was on one of those forums that I never really go into.

It seems to be quite the secretive boot.

Are these creases on my new 405s normal? I haven't even worn them yet

@ns120780 that looks 100% normal for cxl leather, which tends to look more wrinkled and will crease easily when worn.  Great boots though and they look good worn-in, so no need to worry :)

True... for chromexcel, this would be normal... but he said 405s, and they don't look like J.Crew 405s. So, they would be calf.

Calf doesn't normally crease or wrinkle in the same manner.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me, but it's not typical of any calf Alden's I've ever owned.
