Quick alert here... a sweet pair of J Crew snuff suede LWBs in 10.5D are on ebay for $289.98 and appear to be first quality. No box, but Alden shoe bags are included. I would jump on this ASAP if you've had any interest. Seller appears to be reliable 100% with 6,563 transactions.

Black Shell LWBs today gents. I've said before, these classic gunboats are a bit underrated.

Nice boats rtp. I bought black shell ae mcneils before I found alden. Yours are pure goodness.

My friend, that isn't possible. 

+1. hard to resist #8 shell captoe even in similar styles. Jcrew model 39623, Barrie last D width and Grant lasted E width model 4060.

Some difference between the 2;

• Captoe punching on jrcew boot
• Indy style horizontal stitching on jrcew boot, absent on 4060
• Jcrew boot with a single line of vertical stitching holding back seams. 4060 with double
• Minor aesthetic stitching difference on vamp area
• 270 degree flat welt. Notice the closed heel on the Jcrew boot vs the 360 flat welt on 4060
• Barrie last curves up a little toward the front
• Sizing wise, barrie lasted D width is wider than e width Grant last of the same size

I hope your Ravello Brixtons make it soon! I've called all the main Alden retailers today and nobody expects anything else in exotic colors in the next 12 months. That does not apply to orders placed like the Brixtons hopefully. Overall...the story being told on rare color shell has not changed for Alden. It is interesting that Allen Edmonds just announced a web gem deal for brown shell cordovan in 4 styles, and all sizes available.

Fellow SF members, I've been in the busy time of year for my work. I've not had much time to share the love lately, but wanted to say I've enjoyed seeing all the great colors and styles. Congrats to those who have scored the Ravello LWB, very awesome shoes. Happy Hunting!

Sweet boots, love the story.
My six year old daughter loves it when I apply edge dressing. Not sure why, it's her favorite part of my shoe cleaning process. I know she won't always care about my crazy shoe habits... She will soon join the eye rolling team captained by my wife.

Maybe it reminds her of a marker or something. That is funny. I won't let my kiddo anywhere near edge dressing or other shoe product for a while, I can see it now, all her little girl shoes covered in goo, just like Daddy's!
