Thanks for the welcome Mac.
I'm sure posting here will do wonders for my
full blown Alden addiction.

Grail Alden's at the moment:

-Whiskey Tankers
-Natty Shell LHS(my white whale)
-Color 4 Brixton Boots
there is an awful lot of #4 envy - but I wonder how much of that is just driven by rarity / the fact they are so hard to purchase. #4 I don't think is as practical or versatile as anything in the brown spectrum or a burgundy. I own a #4 shell wallet bc I thought it would be fun and it is a cool color to look at but, but as used in shoes...they are just awfully red. a fun thing to have in a larger collection but a hard thing for me to classify as an ultimate want just b/c they are a bit oddball ish.

My PCTs finally got here. Perfect fit. So comfortable.

I think they look pretty damn good. @mdubs can add some more photos in the wild, surely. I thought Carmina's ruby shell was too red, but I find myself loving how they look every time I wear them, and they are a hell of a lot more red than these.

sure they are super nice, no doubt. just for me personally, if I was going with a small collection or if a magic genie could grant me one wish, I'd probably go with my favorite ravello or mahogany makeup over #4. horses for courses though, pun intended

Carefully pack them in a strong flight case.
Transport them to a park or other outdoor area that has a cobbled walk with a bench. Pavers will do as well.
Carefully put each on, paying very close attention not to bend the material in any way.
Take a few photos to post here
Pack them back up and go home.

Uncle, your king WT boots are amazing! They look really sleek, what last are those and who makes them?

You, sir, just won the Internet.

In all seriousness, I am a user, not a collector. I bought two pairs, one for bad weather (commando), one for good. When my whiskey LWBs get here, they will go right into the rotation as well. I love Alden shoes for their usefulness as much as there beauty.

Now you can see why the 975 is Alden's classic shoe.

Mixed Cigar Indys. I've had these for a few years, but never shared their story. I got in fairly early on a run of these from Yenni at J.Gilbert. After months of waiting they finally showed up, one with the Tassels HK heal pad, and the other was missing the heal pad altogether. I contacted Yenni, who had Alden send me new heal pads. I hot glued the missing heal pad in (you can see my shoddy glue job in this picture), but didn't have the heart to rip out the Tassels one. It's just another thing that makes these unique! I like to think there's someone out there with a mirrored set of mismatched boots.

You have a good collection rolling my friend and cute story. I hope your boot mate is out there... ;-)

It is always fun to pickup a new Alden, particularly an exotic LWB. Looking good my friend, enjoy them in good health.

They look very clean, and I agree with Steve, see if you can fix that before you try and return or something.

I'm also looking for recommendations on a waterproof/protectant spray? I know of Saphir Super Invulner, but I was wondering if there was anything more readily available (such as on Amazon).

Your SF Snuffs are looking great. There are a lot of good Suede Sprays.

Your Cigars are looking good. Don't think I have seen a Cigar Chukka with dark edges before.

When they arrive led I was distressed to find that they did not appear to match (the right one is noticably lighter on the top than than left on the top of the shoe). I paid well over market value for these, and am happy to do that but was not banking on two mismatched shoes.

My question is: do it keep them ? Will the patina generated with wear cause them to match better ?

I really appreciate your help.

See, I personally love that character and it will even out over time.
