No way I keep an $800 pair of boots I don't love over $50.

FWIW, l just returned a pair of boots to FB and they were very easy to deal with. I ordered the black NST's but Alden forgot to put the stitching on the nose of the boot so they just looked like defective Indy's. But I digress.......
If it's not a lot of trouble, can you detail for me how that went? What were shipping return charges, how long did it take to be refunded, etc. I called ups and they quoted me over $214. I know that can't be right.

I think the lace over the top is emphasizing the misalignment.  Before you decide, try lacing them the other way--with the laces coming UP through the first two eyelets. You may find it doesn't catch your eye as much.  That's a beautiful pair of boots--do what you can to see if you can live with them.

UPDATE:

I just heard from Frans and they are taking care of everything. Full refund plus shipping both ways. Gotta say an unfortunate situation is definitely alieviated by stellar customer service. Highly recommended.

They'll probably even out some as they wear in. If they're comfy, I'd keep them.

Whoa, do my eyes deceive me? Chipshot.......commando? I don't blame you my-man, those tankers are amazing. I especially like the pairing with light denim. Color 8/antique was made for light denim. Well done all around. .

Whiskey is the most rare for sure out of those.

No on-the-foot photos today, but I did have some time to take a few family photos:

Right to left, starting at the back: Alden SF Snuff Suede Indys, Brown Chromexcel 403 Indys, Frans Boone #8 Plaza Last Indy's,

Alden SF Ravello LWB, CitiShoes Whiskey LWB, 1x J. Gilbert and 1x Tassels HK Cigar Indys (story below), Alden of Carmel Cigar LWB

Indys

LWBs

Mixed Cigar Indys. I've had these for a few years, but never shared their story. I got in fairly early on a run of these from Yenni at J.Gilbert. After months of waiting they finally showed up, one with the Tassels HK heal pad, and the other was missing the heal pad altogether. I contacted Yenni, who had Alden send me new heal pads. I hot glued the missing heal pad in (you can see my shoddy glue job in this picture), but didn't have the heart to rip out the Tassels one. It's just another thing that makes these unique! I like to think there's someone out there with a mirrored set of mismatched boots.

Great story on the Indys! Alden do seem to have silly mess ups from time to time. In a way, that is their charm!
