Piss poor weather here in west Texas. I should have worn my Indy. What's your favorite shoe for inclement weather?

Mine, LW chamois w/commando soul. Hardworking champ.

Classic Indy boots are great for this. The Indy 403 may be in my future.

Speaking of 403s. Do you guys wear your Indy boots with flannel and tweed trousers or are they too dressy for the Indy?

In the exact same boat, and would like to hear the answer to this as well. From what I've read, it seems the consensus is that both are acceptable, and both are comparable. I would enjoy it if someone could expound, however.

Had a cute conversation with my 4-year old recently regarding the #8 wingtip boots I was wearing:

Daughter: "Daddy, your shoes are broken!"
Me: "What do you mean my shoes are broken?"
Daughter: "They have holes in them!"

I will think of that every time I wear these shoes :)

Great pics and story, wild. You may have swayed me to the wingtip boot side. I am digging those!

I've done this, but only in certain fabrics. I have some donegal tweed pants from Epaulet in a wheat color that I've worn with 403s and I think it looked pretty good. I doubt I would wear them with a standard mid grey flannel though.

Also - I just called TSM and picked up the unlined Brown CXL PTBs from the 2nds list. I had my eye on these from Alden SF, so I couldn't turn it down for under $300. I usually try and find 12B for Barrie shoes but that can be an impossible task sometimes. 12C in a boot fits really well (I even have a pair of 12D Barrie boots that have broken in quite nicely with continued wear) so I ordered these in 12C. Hopefully the fact that they're unlined means they should fit a bit snugger, as others have recently mentioned.
