I go up 1/2 size for those boots in barrie/trubalance that I know are winter boots with thicker socks.  In fact it is the rare foot that even takes the same size as Branock in Barrie so it should def be fine...I measure an E width also and Barrie D is fine

Prime - I would not keep the shoes with the hope that they will even out. I tried that and it didn't work for me. However, my first pair of cigars were pre owned and uneven but otherwise in great shape. I sent them to Alden for a recraft because I loved the shoes but couldn't live with the uneven shade. Alden called me and said they would refinish the shoes at no charge. They came back a little darker but looked great. That may be an option worth looking into considering the paucity of Alden cigar these days.

Thanks so much...

For years I have been looking for a pair of cigar cordovan LWB in size 13D. I finally found them New w/o box on eBay and took the plunge. When they arrive led I was distressed to find that they did not appear to match (the right one is noticably lighter on the top than than left on the top of the shoe). I paid well over market value for these, and am happy to do that but was not banking on two mismatched shoes.

My question is: do it keep them ? Will the patina generated with wear cause them to match better ?

I really appreciate your help.

If you are unhappy with the mismatch of color, you can even them out with some brown Saphir cordovan crème.

I think IH 633s is the perfect denim/cut. It's big chunk on money for denim but they are amazing, I love my 21oz.

No way! Randy's local to Tempe? That's fantastic news, as that's where I'm from, and I'm often traveling back there to see family. Thanks for the heads-up!

Agreed on all accounts!

Further side track: I picked up my first pair of 634s 5-6 years ago lightly worn from Buffalo Exchange in NYC. They have faded amazingly and still going strong after 2 repairs by Self Edge. I'm actually looking to have the 634s tapered/hemmed to get a similar fit as the 633. Just not sure who to send them to yet.
The 634 have impressed me enough over the years that I went full retail on the 633s to start completely fresh.

I'm pretty sure a 9D Barrie would work well for you, especially in a boot where you'd expect to wear slightly thicker socks.

I'm the same size as you on the brannock and can easily wear 8.5E and 9D on the Barrie.

That's a bit more discrepency than I would accept, personally. Just my 2 cents.

For me this is not an issue. Leave the darker one in sunlight for a few days.

I ordered two pairs of boots this week. They arrive today. What is the recommended way to treat new shell boots? Wear indoors a few times? Just throw them on and go? What is the best way to go about breaking them in?
