Agreed. This has become my favorite Alden stock model. The color 8 version will likely be my next Alden purchase.

8 is a lucky number in Chinese. The pronunciation of "8" sounds similar to the word for "prosperity"

Wealth / prosperity in Asian cultures.

I'm not sure if this shoe is a stock model. I think to qualify as stock, it has to be part of the aldenshoe.com model list. Isn't that what stock model means?

You could be right, I'm not really sure. My point was that I love the elegance and simplicity of this shoe and that it is next on my list. It seems to be readily available.

I have had to change sizes and just bit the bullet and re-stocked the basics. Now, I have a dozen or so nice shoes, mostly Alden with a couple of AE. Is there a market for the collection as a "lot", or am I going to have to sell them individually? I'm not looking for highest and best price, I just want to take the edge off my recent purchases and would like to get them to someone who would use them. It would be a great purchase for someone looking to quickly have a range of nice shoes, but I am also mindful that anyone crazy enough to have 12+ dress shoes is likely to have particular tastes. Condition and style run the gambit from staple dress to boots to casual. Some in great shape, others used often; only one (black shell Indy--worn the most) is in need of immediate re-crafting.
Thank you in advance for your input.

I would probably sell them individually. Most folks aren't looking to go from 0-60 on their shoe closet, and people will probably prefer to build their own stable rather than buy someone else's. Make one thread in the B&S forum here, with lots of good pictures, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of interest. In the unlikely event that someone wants to buy more than a few of your pairs, you might get lucky and sell the whole lot.

I agree with JSO1. I just sold a few pairs of Aldens and I posted one thread with them all and links to the individual ebay sales for them. I had a guy here on SF buy 2 pairs and then was going to buy another 2 pairs but one of them sold Buy It Now on ebay overnight. Anyways, moral of the story is lumping them all together in one ad has worked well for me with this recent sale. Good luck, I'm sure if you're flexible on price that they won't last long.

Thanks, Ben

It's actually been a fun process. In the past, my purchases were influenced by what I already owned. It was interesting to start afresh and decide what basics to get.

I believe @mack_sublime on IG. I know randy the cobbler offers the same service.

Happy to see people modding Alden's; for a shoe company notoriously rigid in the styles it releases, I'm impressed with how nice the mods have looked.

Gorgeous boots, broseph.

Those are so choice. I would kill for that boot with all eyelets and a leather sole.

I didn't even know these existed. Really fantastic model.

That's a killer shade of whiskey.

Whiskey Wednesday showings were so good this week - yours included!

That's a great boot. Congrats.

Thanks, Mac.

Great boot!

Now those look pretty damn fine.

Yes, Mack at Sublime Goods did them. Very happy with his work.
Thanks a lot fine gentlemen.
