Figured I'd post here first for the connoisseurs before putting it up on the marketplace:

I'm selling a pair of Alden 975 Longwing Barrie-Lasted Bluchers in #8 Shell with Commando Soles, size 10.5E. They are from Alden of Carmel and were worn once outside. PM me and let's strike a deal - not looking for the world.

Apologies if announcing this is out of line; mods contact me and I will edit my post.

Very old and worn in Alden for BB short wing oxfords. Like wearing slippers to work.

So a 10.5D Barrie fits me almost perfect. Would a 10.5E in Aberdeen, from those with experience, fit pretty similar? Concerned it would not be wide enough.

Agree on these being my most comfortable dress shoe. Have you tried the unlined suede blucher? Those may be even more comfortable than slippers

They may be too wide, to be honest.

My experience is that a 10.5E will fit like a glove. I am generally a 8.5D Barrie and picked up a 8.5E Aberdeen off of eBay. Was very hesitant but took the chance because I really liked the model. They fit me better than all of my Barrie shoes. The only thing close is my 9D Grants.

I have not. I don't have much suede, but that is the next direction I will focus on.

That's pretty much how I size through Alden lasts. Adjust width not length.

I wear 10E Barrie and 10EE Aberdeen.

Beware: 10ee Aberdeen has a wider heel than 10E Barrie.

Thanks.

Hey all, have a question about a pair of year old calfs. I just noticed what appears to be a white crack. Normal wear and tear (about 1-3 wears per month), cared for regularly, always treed. Any insight on what this is and how to treat is appreciated. Thanks.

If the leather is cracking, I would think that is a warranty problem, even a year later. It would be pitiful service not to fix/replace that.
