Another question:  do you also have barrie lasted shoes?  If so, are they the same size as your boots?

It all depends on the dynamics of your foot.  The best thing you can do is go to an Alden retailer that has several models stocked in various sizes and try them on in person.

I know that some here size out a width for certain boots others do not.

I too have had several Barrie lasted boots and found that the sizing is fairly consistent for those boots.

So nobody sizes up from Barrie shoes to Barrie boots?

J.Crew x Alden #8 Boots. I changed the edge dressing from black to a more natural/chili color on these.

I recently compared both and they are definitely different lasts.

Yes, some do some do not.

Usually a width out for some.  Others no.

If you do need to size differently, it is best to adjust width not length.  IMO.

Did someone say J. Crew PCT?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
FWIW My best fitting shoes on Barrie so far have been 9E. These boots are 9.5D and feel pretty good. I always have to compensate for the 0.5 size difference between my left and right foot, as well as a sometimes painful condition in my left foot that came about as a result of not compensating for said difference in the past.

I would agree with this

Yes when I plan on wearing a boot sock but otherwise no.

Pardon the ugly carpet.

I take my TTS (8.5D) in J.Crew PCT's.  One of my best fitting Alden's!  I have them on all day and don't even notice they are on my feet.

It's all serious including the existence of barrie jr as a thing.
