Funny that you should say that this is the best LHS color. I originally got these because I thought it wasn't the typical orange ravello color, was closer to whiskey, and that I could avoid getting the whiskey LHS. Well, although I've been loving these as they continue to develop patina and achieve a "butterscotch," hue, I've still been thinking about whiskey after seeing Mdubs's, Chipshot's et al's photos.

Although I've been on wait lists for over 2 years, magically today, my whiskeys became available and are in the mail from another vendor.

Lesson: they are ALL the best color!

Thanks!

Interesting. I wonder if whiskey is making a come back. Which store was it through?

Alden X Jcrew Cap toe today . I wasn't sure initially about wearing these dressed up but guess I was wrong..

Also, really like the shaft height on these boots (compared to AE Daltons, Carmina etc.)

Did you get the call or find it on the website? I seem to remember there being one.

They show a 10.5D online, but I know you have to call to verify.

Regarding the Cigar NST blucher comment:

I think Citishoes has offered this model on Barrie in the past if you wanted to go that route. I know AoM was on Aberdeen and there was one pair on the shelves (12.5C) several months back. Very uncommon model on this thread.

Too tired to address everyone individually, but all are great. Mac won with the whiskey NST and Argyles. :-)

The Cigar NST has been offered by Madison on Aberdeen and TSM on Barrie.

The Whiskey LHS was just an old stock siting in the store they didn't get a new shipment or anything.

Cheers,
Mike

Out of all of the posts I've read going back two years or so, the J Crew PCT boots pretty much unanimously feel slightly more snug than your average Barrie lasted boot, but not quite TTS. That being said, I remember seeing a few go TTS if they felt cramped enough. Keep in mind all feet are different.

I have 3 Barrie lasted boots and they all fit pretty identically at .5 size down from TTS with proper toe room with medium-thickness socks (not standard thin dress socks and not thick or knit boot socks). None of those boots are the J Crew PCT though.

It has been theorized that it was the PCT or the 270 welt. I don't think that's even possible to impact the fitment with those items. Other PCT boots or 270 welt boots from Alden don't have this issue. I tend to wonder if there's something going on with the inner lining.

Alden uses the smaller Barrie lasts for this boot for JCrew. ;-)

Thanks for the info. Since it seems this particular boot falls somewhere between Barrie sizing and TTS sizing, do you know if most people go with their typical Barrie size for this boot, or do most size up to TTS to accommodate the slightly snugger fit?
