. I would rate this shoe in the top 1-2 off all Alden's. Be sure to purchase these tight as the construction of the shoe breakers down some over many years .. You then will have to admit TTS was not the way to go on a low vamp Alberdeen "Shell Cordovan" loafer for the Long run. 4th pair of these shell in many years...

^ Same size as Barrie, Van lasts .. As the vamp getting loose over years. This will keep you from digging your trousers out of your bitchin loafers as you are darting for the plane.

If they are 10.5D, send them over to me for the Cigar Cap Toe Bals. You get a cut. Maybe Alden of San Diego isn't such a bad name -- you can be the middle man.

In all seriousness, what if you went with something like "2 Taunton Street" or "Taunton Street West" (A play on Alden factory address).

Also makes me think a black shell wingtip boot with antique edging would look pretty nice too; has that ever been done before?

My black shell indys are being retrofit with antique edges and brass eyes. I'll post them up when they arrive.

The intent of the blog is to provide people more static information about the Alden Brand (as this is a very dynamic environment and not a good place to post stationary content) and a platform for me to post longer thoughts and stuff. Personal sales is more of a secondary objective...

Thoughts would be rad.

"Rad" - You must be spending a lot of time over in the Epaulet thread.

Does anyone know if you can buy seconds at the shoemart store or is it call to order only?

while I've never personally walked a pair from the back shelves to the counter to purchase, I don't see why you could not. You can walk the shelves, handled the product, see the "defect".

I've got some saphir renovateur that I was thinking of trying. Thoughts/advice?

Are these from this past summer? I have had to clean bloom off of mine 3 times as well. They are easily the bloomiest I own. I have a Cigar Indy that barely blooms at all. Ravello doesn't seem to bloom nearly as much. Color 8 I feel the same way.

I feel like the quality of Cigar shell this past year or so was higher than normal, albeit dark in shade, causing a ton of bloom.
