Mac, your Ravello WT Boots look absolutely superb. Thank you for sharing them today. They have a nice color and of course a magnificent shine. Enjoy them in good health today!

Funny that you mention the size. My feet are just shape very unfortunate – rather wide up front, medium heel width, and rather flat instep.
I just posted a few days back that I have 10E (as in the pic), 10.5D, and a pair of 10D in Barrie, and none of them really works perfectly for me.
The 10D seems to be a perfect fit – until walking a lot in them or after like two hours. They are literally a few millimeters to short. My heel hurts a lot, and my toes are all so slightly cramped. However, the 10E, and 10.5D, which appear to hardly have any difference size-wize when I wear them, are all a little too big. So I wear them right now with a thin cork insert, but I am planning to get orthopedic inserts soon. I hope this solves the problem with my low instep.
To put this into context: I had a 10E Plaza Last shoe, which I had to return. Just too narrow in the toe area. I have a 10E Aberdeen Tassel, which is really painful after four hours. And a 10.5E Tassel, which again is too big. Then again, I bought a (fairly used) pair of 10E Captoe (2146) on Aberdeen and they more or less fit.
Sounds horrible, feels like that, too. Alden does not have THE size for me, apparently.

Anyways, if you (or anyone) has a suggestion in this regard I am very thankful to hear it – I would be happy to solve my sizing mystery!

Sounds like you can try 10.5C

Please pardon my intrusion with a non-Alden post, it is marvelous shell though so I hope you don't mind. I'm trying to get a GMTO Crockett & Jones Medallion Captoe Boot in Dark Brown Shell going. If interested take a peek at the spoiler below.

Makeup "inspired" by the Alden Cigar Medallion Captoe Boots but with some modifications (pic below from MDubs with thanks).

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Cross post from the C&J MTO Central Thread:

OK chaps, I'd like to get another GMTO rolling...

Dundee Brogue Captoe Boot
Dark Brown Cordovan
Antique Edging
Storm Welt
Double Leather Sole
Black Eyelets & Speed-hooks
335 (Rounded) Last
Pulltab

(Example pics below are tan grain):

We would need a group of 12 to get the reduced GMTO rate. All widths have to be the same.

Price in the USA would be (a currently quite reasonable) $828 (excluding VAT) + shipping.

£650 including VAT
£541.67 excluding VAT

I would love to get this going so please spread the word if you are (or even if you aren't) interested!

PM me with any questions.

Cheers,

-Ed

Yes indeed, should be an awesome makeup and currently a pretty reasonable exchange rate! All are welcome.

Thank you Uncle Mac!

Looks like you had a great trip! My wife would just shake her head if she heard me say that I had to take a picture of Ravello, Italy...

Henry, you are looking good today in your Cigar PTBs.

Just amazing. You've got a great color 4 collection. Hell I didn't even know those existed. I can only imagine how hard they were to find and in that great of condition. I can only hope to be so lucky one day.

Great color on those, Don.

I have an AE Wide Basic Dress belt in Chili (the old Chili) that actually matches my Whiskey quite well, believe it or not. For cigar, unfortunately the AE Dark Brown wide basic isn't quite right. Cigar is tougher, but for now I just go with it.

One of the best SW bals out there. Very underrated model - I love it.

#grailstatus

These are fantastic. Congrats.

Suede LWBs are the bee's knees. Mine are my most comfortable shoes I own.

+1.

I don't apply ALD at all to my shells.

Great choices! The Ravello WT boot looks great. The new welt is a big improvement over the previous one you had on that pair.

Amazing boots, and even more amazing that you let your wife to open, unpack, and photograph them before you get home!

Great boots, great socks, and great loafers.

This is a very good pair of shoes.

Now that's how you do Ravello right. Stunning pair of boots.

I need more Grant last in my life. These look great.

A risky game, but one I play on occasion. Even more risky when there's a third pedal involved...

Holy fuck, you win the thread. I literally can't even right now.

I have these boots, and damn, are they sweet. Yours appear to breaking in nicely.

I really hope I get off a whiskey LWB waitlist someday soon. These look great.

They are looking good DV. Glad to see you enjoying them!

Very nice attire and combination today.

Nice looking WT Boots today doc. Those pants are pretty rad as well.

Your Color 8 WT Boots are looking terrific JD! Enjoy them in good health!

Happy Whiskey Wednesday Don! Your LWBs are looking great! Very cool argyle combo.

Nice looking Whiskey PTBs today JSO. Enjoy them. Good to see them getting wear.
