I personally like the darker edge/welt but it's only a personal choice. I do like the boot on commando. Can't go wrong

Looks like a Tricker's boot

Here's my take on Ultimate Indy:

Last:  Truebalance or Barrie

Upper:   Brown CXL in a shade that has less red than what I see in a lot of brown CXL  (or Ravello shell...)

Hardware:  Gunmental eyelets+hooks

Laces:  Dark brown waxed

Welt:  365 Reverse split welt in light brown

Stitching: Light brown toe, color-matched to the leather everywhere else

Sole: Double leather with Commando

As that sits, it is pretty close to the Epaulet Innsbruck with darker toe stitching, 365 welt and gunmetal instead of brass.  I prefer that shoe to TBB's variant...

Finally a cooler day here on the Sonoran Desert allowing me to break from my traditional hot weather unlined LHS's for a beautiful lined Whiskey.

Definitely darker edge/welt and commando! Also, I prefer the 270 degree welt as opposed to the 360 on this Belfast Indy model. The 270 is more sleeker on the Indy boot in my opinion.

Chipshot. Looking good! I think you also have the unlined version as well as the CJ Harvard. This may be blasphemy, but how do you compare the two and do you find the Harvard fits TTS? I'm happy to pm if that is more convenient?

As per
@M635Guy pictures of his new natty CXL vs my pic, they darkened quite a bit. That's the beauty is natty patina. I don't think there is a way to preserve the original look of that leather.

thats exactly what I was hoping to hear. I know that some shades of Natty CXL are darker than others from the beginning, so I was just wondering if your boots just happened to start out exceptionally dark.

I prefer the 360 storm welt on Indys....with a little wear the natural welt/edge with darken....I think that is a great make up

All three models in all colors of course if you've been around here for any length of time ... Honestly .. each has it subtle differences depending on dress. I prefer the Harvard for a more refined look. Both models are light years better than most offings out there in shell cordovan.

I've never tried them on. How does Harvard fit?

Would love whiskey LHS but pretty hard to find.

am I the only one that does not notice my foot being warmer or cooler in lined or unlined shoes?
