I hope to make you feel like you have visited the store in person to understand what each store is about and some thoughts about my experiences visiting each store. I have thought long and hard about which store that I wanted to feature first and have decided to start this series with Alden of Carmel.

Mike, what a great 'Store Spotlight' post! Really enjoyed reading about AoC's history with Alden shoes!

I was in Chicago at Hanig's over the weekend and noticed a pair of Alden cap toe boots in brown chromexcel w/ commando sole that the salesman mentioned were new... had to leave before getting the details.

Anyone happen to know more about them?

Fantastic post, Mike!

I have only bought one pair of Aldens from Adam, a pair of Ravello LWBs, but it was a pleasure doing business with him and I'm looking forward to buying more shoes from AoC. Adam is super knowledgeable, and I can't wait to learn more about the new AoC make-up line.
The article also reaffirmed one thing I've heard mentioned many times before, and something I really value - Adam's thorough inspection of the shoes and boots before they're sent out. Can't praise that enough.

Looking forward to the next store spotlight!

Best,
Tommy

Mike- this is great and I look forward to additional posts. I've emailed several stores, only visited AoM. Everyone has been great but having you put your first hand knowledge in print is fantastically informative. Thanks for taking the time out of your day and life to share this, it's very appreciative! Cheers!

The pictures look very strange.

No filter. The color of the shoes originally was a light tan, which after awhile I grew to dislike. I decided to give them a quasi antiquing treatment with a dark brown shoe dye.

Wow, this is great. I hope you get to the Alden of Washington store before October 10. I have a trip to D.C. And wish to see what I can find there.

Ravello NST

I really want some ravello in my life...

WT Boots or NST's.  I should start putting little chunks of money aside so I can pounce when my grail pops up...

I should start preparing my wife, too...
