Can't answer that but if think it wouldn't hurt - though it might not really be necessary with cxl. Another hardcore option is the stock model kudu Indys with heavy duty lug sole.

I agree - I'm not sure about the leather and you likely have been spoiled by EG. Understandable though.

Very solid NYI. I saw your post on the Epaulet thread and was wondering if they were the Leffot Navy Suede LWBs. Those are probably the coolest Navy Suede model around.

I believe the new Cordovan Cap's are on the Grant Last

I gotta stay off here--all the talk and pics of suede and Indy boots are too tempting!
(and my shoe budget $$ is maxed with my recent cordovan boots)

As promised, you can see some process photos of the recent conversion of my JCrew boots to Dainite by Aram at AH One Shoes on his blog at http://www.ahoneshoes.com/Alden-Boot-Cordovan-Color-8_b_7.html

Agreed and great boot but there is a brown leather medallion captoe in an unspecified last. Not sure if Hampton or Aberdeen or what.

Love the post by NYI from earlier today in his blue suede LWBs.

I picked these up earlier this year, and returned them after they came in because I wasn't sure I could pull them off.

However, I immediately regretted doing so and was lucky enough to pick up another pair NIB on ebay which should be arriving next week.

I hope that I can rock them as well as NYI and Mdubs!

I was just about to look and see if those were still there. Guess I'll just get his Navy Indy's. Or did you scoop those up as well;) Hard to pass up good deals like that.

Well I couldn't find the snuff suede LWB in my size (12.5D) but did find these beauties. Perforated cap toe boot, Barrie last, 360 storm welt, and on what I think are double waterlock soles. Only shame is lack of speedhooks so I might have to have some added. Really nice looking boots.

In an attempt to nail down my correct size I ordered another cxl Dover, this time in 9.5D from the shoe mart. Good news is 9.5 feels right on. Much better that 9. Bad news is this pair is going back. The creases on the toe box are just to much for me. I know this leather and this model will crease, but I think this is too much for what is supposed to be a brand new shoe. They are already on their way back and I have another coming from Winn Perry. Hopefully I will have better luck. The original 9s I got from Alden SF and they were cosmetically perfect, just to small.

Here are the ones I returned, do you think I over reacted?

@usfpaul82  it is your money so you react how you will...that being said those look fine to me. Plain toe CXL and shell are going to get some funny wrinkles/rolls. In fact the only plain toe items I own( I think) that are not suede/rough out or regular calf are a few AE Shell leeds.

I think for 500+ I would've returned them. That's just me.
